    Love Today - Mika

Been stuck in my head for far too long. But I don’t mind.

  5. So… originally I had a whole Harry Potter rant ready. I just got back from seeing it with my sister (a rabid book fan) and my mother (who hasn’t touched the series… she’s swears Dumbledore is still alive.) I will say the new pensieve ink effect is pretty awesome.

    ************insert Malfoy brooding************

But I got distracted by the South Park movie. Oops.

  7. Far from effortless

    Blogs are odd things.

I started “blogging” in 2001, though I use the term loosely, because honestly it was more like an early teen with a diary. A diary that could be designed, reworked, remodeled, coded, then shown off every other week if you felt like it. My small network of (what I believe were) teen girls and anime fans saw it as a design challenge to 1-UP each other with our site designs on a regular basis. I remember being very sad when I realized actual web design was far from that, with professional sites changing skins once every few years.

And that’s what kept me going then. These blogs were more about the design, and the posts rarely meant anything. We lacked the knowledge to add commenting systems most of the time, so the interactivity was limited to forums and IMs. There was no discussion, just expression.

Since that time, I have never been able to keep a blog alive. I have never found a niche for a blog, never come back to one after making it, etc. I’ve got many excuses, and a matching number of failed attempts starting with a post like this one. I state again, I have not managed to get into blogging in a very long time. But it is time to try again. Tumblr seems like a well put together site, no adds, and maybe I’ll manage to keep myself away from the design panel for a while.

What I’m aiming for here is a mixed bag. There will be ramblings, art, occasional World of Warcraft ranting though I can’t play it, and anything else that spills out of my mind. School work, giggles, writings, networkings, who knows? (Oh wow… it adds a “let people answer this” if you end your post with a question mark? Cool…)

To close, I’ll tack on a little bio. I’m a female 20-year-old student from sunny Santa Fe, interested in art, video games, dabbling in programming, World of Warcraft, the next food to cover in green chile, and just getting by. And maybe some day I’ll go somewhere. Maybe.
